Bollywood singer-rapper Badshah has re-released his Haryanvi song ‘Tateeree Phir Se’ after the controversy. In the updated version, he has removed the controversial scenes and lyrics. The line that sparked the most outrage has been replaced with a new rap: “Aaya Badshah rang dikhane, phir jalwa dikhane.”
The earlier roadways bus scene has also been removed. Instead, the video now shows girls dancing in traditional Haryanvi attire daaman-kurti inside an underpass. Some elderly men are also seen with hookahs. The song has already crossed one million views on YouTube.
Last month, after the original version of ‘Tateeree’ was released on March 1, controversy erupted over its lyrics and visuals. Three cases were registered against Badshah in Panchkula and Jind. Following this, the song was taken down from YouTube. The Haryana Women Commission had also summoned him. On March 7, Badshah appeared before the National Commission for Women and issued an apology.
