Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated development projects worth ₹176.91 crore in Batala on Thursday. He also launched projects worth ₹95.72 crore under the Batala Municipal Corporation. Additionally, the Chief Minister initiated development works worth ₹16.10 crore under the Punjab Mandi Board. He also laid the foundation stone for road projects worth ₹65.09 crore under the Public Works Department. He alleged that leaders like Captain Amarinder Singh and Sukhbir Singh Badal would stay confined to their homes after elections, issuing instructions that only benefited their close associates and relatives, with little concern for the general public. He remarked that they do not shake hands with common people. He said, if by mistake, they happen to shake hands with someone, they immediately sanitizes their hands the moment they gets into their car, to avoid contracting any disease. Cm said, these leaders view common people as mere insects. He asserted that the fate of such leaders now lies in the hands of the people of Punjab. Mann emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party government has been working for the welfare of people, highlighting initiatives such as building roads, opening Aam Aadmi Clinics, shutting toll plazas, and providing financial assistance of ₹1,000 to women. The event was also attended by former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Cabinet Minister Lal Chand. Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa performed at the event, adding a cultural touch to the program.
